27 week belly pictures are up!  We're in the 3rd trimester now!!!!  Only 13 weeks to go!

It's been too long since I posted!!  We were up in Wisconsin from the 21'st through the 26'th.  We got to visit my parents and siblings on Thursday and they even made me a birthday cake!  Laughing  Then we went to my grandparents' house and got to stay with them from Thursday until Sunday night.  We drove up to Fond du Lac for my doctor appointment on Friday, though.  Everything went good, but it was hard because it was my last appointment with my doctor (more about that later).  Buddy was with us and he charmed his way into sleeping in the house with us when we were at my grandparents.  Then, when we went up to Fond du Lac on Sunday night, he stayed with my grandparents and he ended up getting to stay inside all day on Monday, too.  Anyway, while we were with my grandparents, we went to the IMax theatre and saw "Night in the Museum".  It was so funny, but in the beginning, the lips were off from the voices.  So on the way out, they were giving us free movie passes!!  We gave them to my grandparents and the best part is that they only paid half-price for the original tickets!  On Monday, we watched all the Lord of the Rings movies.  I didn't really watch them, though.  I was working on the birth sampler I'm making for Ava and I wasn't even paying attention.  On Tuesday, I had to go to the doctor and take my glucose test, then we picked up Buddy from my grandparents' and drove back to Kansas.

Anyway, we decided to have the baby in Kansas after all.  It's been a really hard decision because I really wanted my mom to be able to be there and I'm not sure if she'll be able to if we're in Kansas.  Plus, I really liked my doctor and didn't want to switch.  In the end, though, there were more pros than cons.  It will be really nice not having to worry about going into labor in Kansas, or about Chad not making it up to Wisconsin in time, or having to induce labor so he'll be able to be there.  Plus, it will be nice after she's born to just drive a mile or so to get home, instead of making a 10-hour trip with a newborn.  So I applied for insurance down here.  I'm not sure if I'll be approved (although there's no reason we shouldn't be), but the application process could take a really long time.  The lady I talked to wasn't even sure I'd be approved before the baby was born.  We definitely can't afford to pay for this ourselves.  So I'm really hoping for some kind of miracle and I'll be approved in the next month or so.  I already made an appointment with a doctor down here.  I couldn't find a female OB that was accepting new patients, so I had to settle for a male one.  I'm not happy about that at all, but we'll see if we like him and if we don't, we can always find a different one.  Since my insurance application won't be approved by then, though, we have to pay $250 up front….hopefully this will be the only time we have to do that.  I feel like we're really going out on a limb with this, and I hate going out on limbs.  If things don't work out in the end, I'll really be kicking myself for not sticking with our original plan to deliver in Wisconsin.

Chad has been sick all day today (for the second time in the last few weeks).  I couldn't believe how much he slept this afternoon….it was like 4 hours!  And he only woke up because I was making supper.  I think he's feeling a lot better now than he was this morning, though, so he really needed that sleep.  Right now he's watching Sleepy Hollow and tried to make me watch it with him.  I refused.  I hate movies like that.

I think Buddy is showing signs of hip problems (which labs have a predisposition towards).  It's only after he's been sleeping or laying down for awhile, but I can tell from the way he walks that his back hips are stiff and sore.  I knew hip problems might be in his future, but I had no idea it would be this soon…he's only a year and half!  When he goes in to the vet for his shots in April, I'm going to ask them to take an x-ray of it to make sure.  In the meantime, I'm going to try to get his weight down a little.  He's definitely on the heavier side and I heard that can cause hip problems.  I haven't been cutting back on his regular food at all, just the treats and he is not happy with me.

Anyway, I think Chad's movie is over, so I'm going to go see what he's going to turn on next…..

New Photos!

My 24 week belly pics are up, and so are some new pics of Buddy (we got bored and decided to dress him up….he tolerated it very well…LOL).

This is the first time I've actually had the patience to log in to my blog in awhile!  I don't know what's been going on with it, but it takes like 10 minutes to log in.

Anyway, we're all doing good here!  From what I hear, it's a lot warmer down here than it is up in Wisconsin!  Today wasn't too warm (about 20*, I think), but yesterday was 50* and we're supposed to be back up near 60* by Monday.  The only thing I don't like about this up and down weather is the mud….it gets cold and the mud gets hard and then it warms up again and there's muddy pawprints all over the kitchen floor.  Maybe I should buy brown paint and paint pawprints all over the floor so that no one can tell when the floor is actually dirty.  I'm sure our landlord would love that!

Ava's doing good, too, although she gave us a scare the other day.  I'd been feeling her move pretty regularly and then all of a sudden I went like 2 days without feeling any movement.  I was completely freaking out.  She started moving around again, though, and she's actually kicking more than ever now.  It seems like every time I roll over in bed, she wakes up and starts kicking.  Smile

Chad dropped his phone in a toilet for the first time the other day.  It's going to cost like $200 to replace, and we're definitely getting insurance on it this time!!

I finally found the library down here today!  It's huge!!!!  Somehow, though, I managed to come home with only 3 books!  Then Buddy and I went to the post office and we stopped at the dog park on the way home.  We only stayed for a few minutes, though, because there was this guy just sitting in his truck there and there was no one else at the dog park.  Buddy was mad at me for making him leave so soon, but I didn't feel comfortable staying there by myself (especially since Chad had my cell phone thanks to his toilet incident).  I think from now on, we'll go later in the afternoon when there are lots of other dogs there.

I finished the quilt I was making for Ava!  There's a picture of it in my photo gallery after all the albums (it's not in an album).  You also *HAVE* to click on the thumbnail of the penguins (right before the quilt picture).  It's actually a video and it is soooooooo funny!  I've watched it like 30 times today and I laugh every time I watch it.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sidewarys, chocolate in one hand, margarita in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO!!!  What a ride!"

The ultrasound pictures are up!!!  It took me quite a bit of messing around with it this morning, but I finally got them up!  There are also pictures of our house, some new pictures of Buddy and I uploaded our wedding pictures, too.

Chad bought me a digital camera today!  I'm still trying to figure it out, but there are some new pictures of Buddy in my photo gallery.  He doesn't like getting his picture taken, which is why only 3 turned out.  Over the weekend, I want to take some pictures of our house and yard so everyone can see….
