Ava had her 4-month checkup today. This little turkey is 25 3/4 in long, 15 lbs, 10 oz and her head is 16 1/4 in. She’s in the 97th percentile for height, 95th for weight and her head is average. I also asked the dr about starting solids because she’s been getting up every hour or two at night. He said she doesn’t need them until 6 months, but he said I could try it and told me how to go about starting them. She’s going to have her first rice cereal at supper tonight.

Thanks for the comments on my post!!! LOL I was experimenting trying to put photos on here and I figured out how, but they were too big, so I took them off and was going to resize them, but Ava woke up so I never got back to it. LOL I’ll try to update a little more later.

I really need to get better about updating here. Ever since we got back from Wisconsin last time, Ava’s routine has been completely disrupted, so I’ve been absolutely exhausted. Plus I’m still dealing with a lot of postpartum stuff….I would rather be pregnant for 2 years (I loved being pregnant up until the last weeks anyway, though) and go through labor and delivery 10 times over (per child) than ever be postpartum again. So those are my two excuses for not updating.

Ava is getting so big now. I can’t believe she’ll be 4 months in a few days. She laughs now (there are a few laughing videos in her photobucket). Last night in the bath, she kept slouching down until only her face was out of the water and every time I’d pick her up and make her sit up, she’d laugh.

I’m working on a photo album for her right now. It’s one that Chad’s mom gave me and it’s so pretty….on the front it has glittery butterflies and flowers, a place to put a picture and stickers to put her name. There’s a picture of the front in her photobucket, too. I’ve almost got all the pictures I want to put in it, but now I have to rearrange all of them so they’re in order. I’m hoping to have it done before we come up in August so I can show everyone.

Yesterday Ava and I went to the zoo with our stay-at-home mom group. It was fun, but it was so hot!!! I don’t think Ava really noticed any animals except the goats. They were staring right at her. :) Tomorrow we’re going to feed the ducks with them.

Well, I’d better keep moving here. Ava’s sleeping and I’m wasting her naptime on the computer again. As soon as she wakes up, we have to go grocery shopping. *blech* If it wasn’t so expensive, I’d order our groceries online and have them delivered right to our door. That’s how much I hate grocery shopping.

Today was quite a day. Ava was so sleepy yesterday and let me get all the statements done, which was really nice. I thought she was starting her 3-mo growth spurt, but no. Today she slept a total of about an hour and she was SO fussy! I was on the phone with her doctor twice today trying to figure out what on earth was wrong with her. She finally went to bed at about 7:30 and then she was up again at 8:00. Oy. Luckily, she went back to bed about 10 minutes later. I’m heading for bed, too. Chad actually told me he thought I had pink eye because my eyes were so bloodshot. I’m like, “You try getting up several times a night and then barely getting a break all day. You’ll look like you have pink eye, too!”

Ava and I have been shopping this morning!! I’m so glad I have a little girl….now I’ll have someone to shop with and watch chick flicks with!! Anyway, it was all about Ava today. At Target, we bought diapers, a white skirt, khaki shorts, a shirt that says “Apple of my Daddy’s eye” and another shirt that says, “We all know I’m Grandma’s favorite.” At Wal-Mart, we bought a 12-mo size 4th of July shirt….it has fireworks on it and says, “Wish Upon a Star.” 12-mo was the smallest size they had, so hopefully it will fit. They had another shirt that I liked even more, but that was 18-mo size, so there was no way that was going to fit.

The purpose of our shopping trip was to avoid doing statements as long as possible. I have them printed out and I even have the invoices alphabetized, but I really don’t want to keep working on them. I am just finishing lunch now, though, so I suppose I can’t procrastinate much longer….
