<< Drum roll, please >>

We got an accepted offer on a house!!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s only in our price range because it’s on a fairly busy road (but it has a privacy fenced backyard to keep kids and dogs in)…otherwise it would be about 50,000-75,000 more. It has 3 bedrooms (with the potential for 3-4 more…the attic is almost finished, but the sellers didn’t have time to complete it before they got transferred), 1 1/2 baths, a HUGE kitchen with all appliances included, a breakfast nook, dining room, screened back porch, hardwood floors, fireplace, and I could keep going and going. We found it last Friday and immediately put an offer in on it…it had only been on the market for 3 weeks. After a little bit of negotiating, we got our accepted offer yesterday!

We close on October 15 (approximately a week after the Feast), which means pretty soon we’re going to have to start packing the stuff we don’t use often.

Ava rolled over from tummy to back unassisted for the first time tonight! She’s rolled towards us on the bed before, but this was the first time she did it on a blanket on the floor! We’ve known she was strong enough to do it for about a month, but she just never had the desire to until tonight!

I’m back. She’s taking another catnap, so hopefully I have enough time to finish a post.

Anyway, yesterday we had a really sleepy day. Ava and I napped together in the morning and then again in the afternoon (we would have napped longer in the afternoon, but Buddy started barking at something outside and woke Ava up crying). Chad spent 5 hours baking mint chocolate brownies. He left to buy a few ingredients at 10 and didn’t cut them until 3. They’re really good, though. :) He doesn’t bake very often, so I think he really enjoyed doing it again. We brought some over to our new friends’ house and they loved them, too. They invited us to a block party in the evening so we went with them to that and then they came over to our house for a little bit afterwards.

Today Ava’s having another sleepy day, so I was able to post invoices, vacuum, go through her closet and put her outgrown clothes away (so sad!), and now I need to go fold laundry. At some point today I want to start writing captions in her photo album. That’s all I have left to do for it and it will be nice to be done with it. For supper we’re have meatballs, some sort of pasta dish and green beans from Jeb and Laurie’s garden (assuming they’re still good…they should be…we had some a few days ago and they were fine then).

Ugh, the princess is up, so I’m off again.

I probably shouldn’t even be starting this post right now because Ava just woke up and I know Chad’s going to bring her in here in a matter of minutes. But…I wanted to get another post written today, so here I am.

Yesterday we had a very sleepy day. *And here she is*….To Be Continued Later…

We had an extremely busy day yesterday. To add to our already busy day, Chad’s van was at the mechanic’s, so we were sharing my car for the day. He had to service Blue Cross Blue Shield first thing in the morning and then I took Ava to the breastfeeding clinic. She weighs 16 lbs, 5 oz now. She gained exactly a pound in 20 days, so she’s starting to slow down now, which is normal for her age. They also said it’s normal for her to start sleeping less, which she’s definitely doing. She was such a little ham there. She was showing everyone her fake cough. One of the nurses fake-coughed at her, so Ava fake-coughed back. The nurse said, “Oh, I’m so sorry you’re so sick!” and Ava fake-coughed at her again.

When we got home, Chad said he would watch Ava for me while I went shopping for shirts. Of course, while he’s on duty, she takes the first nap she’s had in 2 days…she slept the entire time I was gone. Just not fair. I got 4 shirts….nothing I’m jumping up and down about, but they cover the stretch marks and that’s what I was looking for.

When I got home, Ava kept sleeping for a little while and I was able to start a load of laundry, vacuum the house and clean the bathroom, so I benefited from the nap anyway. LOL

As soon as she woke up, we left to see Bourne Ultimatum. We accidentally got there 45 minutes early, so we picked Chad’s van up while we were waiting. Anyway, that is seriously the last movie Ava is going to for a couple years. She used to be a perfect angel in movies…and she’s still not really misbehaving, but she TALKS SO LOUD!!! I end up standing the aisle with her or sitting in the front row the whole time (to avoid crawling over people on my way in and out). The movie was good, though. Chad really liked it.

After that, we were going to a friend’s house for dinner, so we had to kick it into high gear. I raced home to feed Ava her supper and give her a bath and Chad went to the store to buy drinks to bring. Of course, last night was the night Ava decided to eat FIVE BOWLS of oatmeal. I barely had enough time to give her a bath before we had to leave.

We had so much fun at our friends’ house, though. They live a couple blocks away from us and have 2 little girls (only one was there, though). Ava and their baby had fun staring at each other. :) They made Cajun Chicken with pasta and even though we don’t usually eat spicy stuff, that was really good. Then we ended up talking until 3:00 AM. They were a lot of fun to be with and we’re looking forward to doing it again soon. They actually invited us over next weekend, too, but we’ll be in WI then.

But this morning we’re really dragging from being out so late. Ava got up at 7 (and she didn’t really sleep much until we got home either). We just woke up from a little nap, though, so it’s nice that it’s the weekend and we have time to nap today. I’m sure we’ll be doing more of that. LOL But since she just woke up from her nap it’s time to feed her so we’d better get going.

Here are the pictures! I absolutely love them! My mom gave me a coupon to get a collage free with portrait purchase. It worked out perfect because there were 6 pictures I loved, so I got one of them as a portrait and the other 5 in the collage (and 5 was the most a collage would hold.

This is the one I got as an 8×10:

I really wanted a bathtime scene, but they JUST made a new rule that they can’t have the baby sitting in the bathtub unless they can sit independently, which Ava can’t. So they tried having her lay on her belly in front of the bathtub, which was tipped over. She would have none of that, though. We’ll have to try it again in a few months when she can sit on her own.

Getting a little break from the drama right now. Ava’s finally napping and I should be doing something productive, but I’d much rather be blogging. LOL Ava went to bed at about 6:30 last night (she only slept a total of 30 minutes yesterday), so she got up at 5 this morning. She slept in our bed until 6, but since she’s such a bed hog, I didn’t get anymore sleep. So I’m REALLY dragging this morning.

Today we’re going to get Ava’s pictures done at Sears. My mom gave me a coupon for a free photo collage with a portrait purchase. I still haven’t decided what she’s going to wear. We’re going to try a couple things on and see what we like best. I’ll put the pictures in Ava’s photobucket when we get home. I think while we’re at the mall I’ll take advantage of the Bath & Body Works 5 for $15 hand soap sale, too.

Well, I’ve got to get moving. I have to throw a load of laundry in before we leave. I was hoping to make a salad for supper before we left too, but I think that will just have to wait until this afternoon.

And the drama continues. Ava has started something new today. If I set her down and am in the same room, but am not looking at her, she screams like a banshee (not crying, just screaming). When I turn around and look at her, she gets a smile on her face and laughs. Driving me up the wall.

We have a drama queen on our hands. Ava fakes coughs if we’re not looking at her or if she’s laying down and wants to sit up (because she knows when she coughs, we sit her up and pat her back). She also makes yawning noises when she yawns and sneezing noises when she sneezes (like “Ah-Ah-Achoo!”). ROFL And she used to do a “worried” look when all was not quite right in her little world….now she makes high hyperventilating noises. It’s hilarious at first, but after about 10 minutes of all the drama, it starts driving me insane.
