My doctor said you can sleep on your back as long as you're tilted up on one side of your body with a pillow, so it moves you to your side just enough to get some blood flow.
YOu can sleep on your belly, but it's just unconfortable for most pregnant ladies. I still, from time to time, sleep on my belly.
I'm not musch of a back sleeper. I'm mostly a side sleeper, so I haven't really had to change anything. I'm definately glad for that. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to those you need to totally change the way they sleep altogether.

My doctor told me it was worse to get little sleep because you are not comfortable. She also said it is not such a big deal until you nearing the end of your pregnancy. If I remember correctly, I think you are supposed to sleep on your left side.
