Doctor Appointments

I had my 26-week doctor appointment today. Not much to report…everything looks good. Today was the first time he measured my belly and it was exactly perfect…26 inches at 26 weeks! Now I start going every 2 weeks and next time I have to do the diabetes test, have a sonogram (to make sure the placenta has moved up and away from my cervix), and have an appointment! It’s going to be a long morning!

And Ava also had her 15-month checkup today. Everything looks good with her, too. Her head is 18.5 inches, she’s 33 inches tall and weighs 25 lbs, 6 oz!

A Brand New Niece!

Photobucket

We have a brand new niece!! I’ve been waiting to post this until I knew her size for sure, but now I finally can! Chad’s sister Kim and her husband Rob had their baby girl Myra Elise (I’m not 100% sure about the spelling of her middle name) this morning at about 2 am. She weighed 7 lbs, 4 oz and was 20.5 inches long. From what I’ve heard, Kim did awesome, going through more than 24 hours of labor completely natural! We can’t wait to go up and see them on Friday!

P.S. I snagged the picture from my other sister-in-law, Kelley , so you can see more pictures at her site.

Hector Kabande

I’m not a big fan of spicy food, but I still think it would be awesome to lean how to cook like Hector Kabande . He was made famous by his spicy Mexican dishes and even though he doesn’t own or operate restaurants anymore, cooking is still his passion. Some people even bring him hot peppers from their own gardens for him to use in his dishes!

We started celebrating the Fourth of July a little early this year. Chad brought up his fireworks stash from the basement and we set a few off today. Unfortunately, Chad and I were the only ones who enjoyed them. I had both Ava and Buddy hiding behind me (Buddy’s a great guard dog, huh?). So we only set off a few during the day, but Chad set off more with the next door neighbor tonight. Luckily, they didn’t keep Ava from going to sleep (it took her forever to go to sleep, but I think it was because of the teeth, not the fireworks).

Police Gear

I think it would be safe to say that all police officers need quite a bit of stuff. I mean, just look at them walking around with a million tools of the trade all over their belts…and there’s even more in their car! I found a great site for all the police officers to buy their gear at reasonable prices! LA Police Gear is even running a special deal on police officer clothing right now! You can buy any two 5.11 clothing items (including 511 Tactical Shorts) and receive free shipping, free return shipping and a free hat!! Sounds like a pretty good deal to me!

My mom, Kathy at Is 8 Enough? and my blogging buddy Toni at It Is Naptime both gave me the Arte Y Pico Award ! I’m not sure exactly what it means, other than that my blog is being honored for its creativity, design and interesting material. Sounds good to me!

Here are the rules:

1. Pick five (5) blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.
4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of “Arte y Pico” blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award

I am passing this award on to several blogs that I particularly enjoy reading as I do my daily entre card drops:
1. Tisha at CrAzY Working Mom
2. Rene’ at Cheaper By The Half Dozen
3. Jenny at Up The Hill Gang
4. Irene at Try and Try Again
5. Courtney

Cellular Amplifiers

Do you have a problem with cellular communication in a building you live or work in? Powerful Signal can help!! They have the knowledge and supplies to help you with any problem you may be having. They have cell phone amplifiers, cellular repeaters, cellular antennas, etc. available to plan out a cellular building solution just for you! Give them a call!

Pet Supplies

It seems like most people these days are pet owners, so I’m sure the majority of people reading my blog could use pet supplies . This site sells all the pet supplies you could possibly need, for quite a few different pets, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets and even wild pets! And best of all, they’re all sold for really great discounted prices!

And here are the long-overdue pictures of our living room, with new curtains, pillows and lamp shades! Unfortunately, they’re outdated already because I just put my new 4th of July decorations on the mantle this morning (by the way, thanks to those who recommended Oriental Trading…that’s where I bought them!). But you get the idea.
