Travel Deals

I guess it might be a little late for this, since most of our family (and loyal readers) are on their vacations as I type this, but Sherman’s Travel is a great place to find good travel deals . We’ll have to keep this site in mind for next fall when we’re able to go on vacation again! The cheaper the travel arrangements are, the more money we’ll have to spend while we’re there!

Blood Pressure Monitor

Do you have problems maintaining a healthy blood pressure? Luckily, I don’t (mine is always on the low end of the “normal range”…even all the way through pregnancy!), but if I did, I think it would be really nice to have a blood pressure monitor on hand. It would definitely beat wondering if my blood pressure was where it should be all the time!

I can’t believe how much weight Kelvin is gaining!

Here’s his weights so far:
Oct. 5 – 8 lbs, 8 oz
Oct. 6 – 8 lbs, 0 oz (I think…I’m having a hard time remembering this one)
Oct. 8 – 8 lbs, 2 oz
Oct 10 – 8 lbs, 10 oz

The little piggie gained 8 ounces in the last two days!!! I guess I don’t have to worry about whether I have enough milk for him anymore! I’m glad he’s doing so well, but honestly, I hope he’ll slow down a little now. The newborn stage goes so fast and I want him to stay little awhile longer!

Also, since I have it I thought I’d add my 40-week belly picture. This was taken as we were getting ready to go to the hospital, about 7 hours before he was born:

Photobucket

I started a new photobucket for Ava and Kelvin’s pictures:

The link is also on the sidebar. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the comments and congratulations!!! I’m so happy that Kelvin is finally here! I’m working on getting pictures uploaded right now, but I have so many that it’s going kind of slow. Hopefully I’ll have a link for you all to go to tomorrow. In the meantime, you can see one picture by going to the Stormont-Vail website. Click on October and Kelvin J. (Oct. 5).

Anyway, he’s waking up now and will probably want to eat, so I’ve got to go…

Kelvin is Here!

Photobucket

Kelvin James arrived this morning at 5:14 am!

Weight: 8 pounds 8 ounces
Length: 20 1/4 inches

He has a little bit of hair and was very alert!

Congratulations Lora and Chad and Ava!

**Grammie posted this for Lora at her request**

I think this might be it, people! I’ve been having very regular contractions since this afternoon. Right now, they’re hovering around 4 minutes apart (and about half an hour ago, they were still at 6.5 minutes apart), so I’m thinking I shouldn’t even be on the computer right now! I think I’m going to go finish packing the hospital bags and if they keep up like this, we’ll probably head to the hospital!

I’m pretty sure there’s no wireless internet at the hospital, but I’m going to go email my password to my mom so she can update here once he comes!

Synthetic Lawn

Now that we don’t have Buddy in the back yard anymore, we’ll probably be making some big changes to the porch and yard next summer. Chad has already done quite a bit of work on the porch, but we’re going to wait make any changes to the yard until it warms up again next spring or summer. One change I think would be really nice is to have synthetic lawn in the area where we keep Ava’s pool. It doesn’t look so bad when the pool is out, but when we put it away in the garage last month, it left behind a big, brown ring!

Easyturf.com has some great options for anyone else who’s considering synthetic turf as part of their landscaping projects. They even have dog grass which I think would have been really nice when we still had a dog. Let’s face it…you can’t have a very nice lawn when you have a dog running all over it all the time. This synthetic turf is built to withstand the wear and tear that dogs do to grass!

It’s never too early to start thinking about your landscaping projects for next year! If yours will include synthetic grass, make sure you visit this site!

Yesterday when Ava had her Parents as Teachers home visit, our educator brought these Peel N Play vegetables and fruits . Ava absolutely loved them! I was surprised that she was able to use the knife really well while she was slicing them. Needless to say, both Grandma and I knew she had to have a set of her own! So as soon as her educator left, off we went to The Toy Store and Grandma bought them for her. She’s so cute with them…I’ll have to get a video of it!

Do You Accept Credit Cards?

I really don’t know how anyone could survive in today’s world without a credit card! I know we use ours on almost a daily basis, and I know we’re not the only ones! I know there are a lot of people who use theirs even more than we do. So it’s really important for businesses to be equipped to accept credit cards in order to avoid losing business to their credit-card-accepting competition! If your business isn’t equipped to accept credit cards , make sure you visit this site! They’re the best company to turn to for getting ready to accept credit cards!
