I survived Thanksgiving weekend!! LOL Actually, it wasn’t bad…everyone helped us out so much. There’s no way I could have done all the cooking and cleanup on my own, so that was really nice. And everyone helped clean up the house before they left so the only thing we had to do was clean up our bedroom (which was a disaster area because we’d had both of our kids and all their stuff in there the whole time) and put away things that other people wouldn’t have known were out of place.

It was nice having almost all the cousins together (Sophia and Joshua were the only ones missing). Myra and Kelvin loved each other….they would sit there and stare and coo at each other. It was so sweet! Ava and Aubrey and Jordan got along most of the time, too. Ava really enjoyed having other kids to play with. I got quite a few pictures that I’ll have to try to upload later. We’re really looking forward to the end of December when *all* the cousins can be together!

Today we’re back to our same old routine. I’ve got to go out and get some milk and I’ve got TONS of laundry to do! I’m up “early” because Kelvin decided to get up at 7 and then go back to sleep *after* I had my coffee. I haven’t really gotten anything done other than printing out some coupons, talking to my mom, and now this post. I hear Ava starting to move around, though, so I’ll have to get moving before too long!

And by the way, we got a TINY bit of snow last night!! I love winter, so I’m all excited. We’re supposed to get a little more today, but I doubt it will be enough to let Ava play in. Hopefully soon, though!

Looking for western wear ? I think the only reason I’d be searching for western wear would be for a line dancing church social or for a costume party or something. I’m not really into that. I know some people really are, though. There is a lady in the church I used to go to and she wore western wear every week (and probably throughout the week, too…I’m not sure!).

*SIGH* This is literally the first time Kelvin has gone to bed early and I CAN’T SLEEP!!! I’ve been spending the last month and a half wishing he would just go to bed earlier than midnight and now he went to bed at 9:30, but I just can’t sleep! At least he let me get up…usually if I’m not sleeping next to him, he wakes up immediately.

Chad’s mom and I got quite a bit done for Thanksgiving today. We got the potatoes peeled, sweet potatoes made and ready to cook, stuffing made and ready to bake, cranberries made, cranberry bread made and the turkey thawing. That’s pretty much all we can do ahead of time since other people are bringing all the pies. I’m feeling slightly less stressed about Thanksgiving now!

Well, I’m going to go see if I can fall asleep now! Think sleepy thoughts for me!

We have a camcorder, but we don’t use it nearly as often as we should (I think the only time we used it was at our wedding and we weren’t even the ones using it!). When we want to take videos, we end up using the digital camera because it’s right there. Plus, it takes better quality videos than our camcorder. Maybe it would be a different story if we had a hi-def camcorder .

I’ve been casually looking at ipods lately. If we continue going to the gym (the biting episode hasn’t been resolved yet, so we haven’t been back), I think it would make the time go quicker if we could listen to music. They’re pretty expensive, though, so I’m not sure I want to spring for and ipod instead of an MP3 player. If I get one though, this site has great selection and prices!

We finished the last of our Thanksgiving shopping this morning. It was a pretty smooth shopping trip, unlike most of the ones we’ve had lately. I put Kelvin in the Peanut Shell and he fell asleep and Ava rode in the cart. I’ve determined that the only way we can ever have nice shopping trips is if one child is in the sling and the other is in the cart…most of the time, Kelvin will be the one in the sling since he’s lighter, but if he’s sleeping I’ll put Ava in the sling.

Anyway, I think we have all of our Thanksgiving food now! I know we don’t have everything for the whole weekend, but we’re playing the rest of the weekend by ear and running to Dillon’s (half a block away) for other things as we need them. It’s just too hard to plan all that in advance especially with so many variables…not knowing exactly how much food will be leftover, etc.

I’m probably the only one like this, but I’ve always (since we’ve had our own house, anyway) been a bit paranoid about getting termites. There is no reasonable explanation for this, since we’ve never had termites (that I know of) in a house we’ve lived in, but I am. It’s probably because the cost of termite treatment is so high and it’s not exactly something you can put off once you know about it! If we ever have that problem, though, this is a great company to turn to!
