Wow, I had no idea how much STUFF I was going to accumulate when cloth diapering!!! Seriously, it just keeps multiplying!! When I bought our initial order just to get started, it filled the 3 big baskets I had bought to keep on the changing table shelves. Now, those baskets are completely full, plus I have a 3-drawer cart that is completely full, plus all the newborn diapers and covers and the toddler diapers are in Kelvin’s closet!! It’s funny that when you disposable-diaper, you just go the store and buy a package of diapers and a box of wipes, but with cloth-diapering, you have to buy diapers and covers and snappis and doublers and liners and wipes and wipes solution, etc etc etc!! But the nice thing is that you come out spending less in the end even though you have so much stuff (plus you can resell it when you’re all done!). By the way, I was reading today that when you disposable-diaper, you end up paying approximately $2,800 per child. I estimate that I’ve spent about $500 so far and I have everything I’m going to *need* to get both kids through to potty-training (that’s not saying I won’t still buy a few things I don’t really need…like a few more pocket diapers and all-in-ones). I think that’s pretty good!

OK, I’m really rambling now, so I’m going to stop. Plus, Ava is rebelling against bedtime and is already starting the “I need a drink of water!” trick. So I’m off to get her one….*sigh*

It does seem like in the end you save a ton of money cloth diapering. I haven’t started using mine because he is still just a little too small and I want to get through the really bad explosions that happen in the first couple weeks with out messing up my nice cloth diapers. =)
Sophia has been doing some little things that are funny since Joshua was born like going between really needing me to acting like I have betrayed her with spending so much time with another baby. =) It’s funny to see her adjusting with us to the new addition to the family.
BTW, it was very thoughtful of you and Chad to think of us when offering to make the toy box.
I hope you are all doing well and that Kelvin’s acid reflux(I think that’s what you mentioned he had right?) is doing better.
He already looks so much bigger in the recent pictures you put up. So cute!

I can’t believe that Kelvin is smiling so much already. Except for your fussy baby video’s he looks like a really happy baby. Does Kelving sleep behind Chad’s head often. Those pics were adorable but I was waiting for Chad to roll over on him.

Katie – No, that’s the only time Kelvin ever slept like that. It was in the morning and I was in the bathroom when Kelvin woke up, so Chad propped him up against the pillow, but didn’t expect him to go back to sleep. When he did, he slouched down like that. I thought it was so cute! Chad was awake the whole time, though, even though his eyes were closed. :)

We don’t seem to have a ton of stuff for cloth diapering, but then again, we’re douing the pins and boring plastic pants, with two different kinds of cloth diapers, rather than the fun and up-to-date stuff you use. So cloth diapering will probably be even more fun and convenient for you than it is for us :)
Like you side, you’re saving a lot more money in the end, and you’re already set through toilet training. It’s definitely worth it having it all :)
