Happy Thanksgiving!

We are getting ready to travel up to Wisconsin tonight to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family tomorrow. It’s a little crazy around here right now…. but when isn’t it crazy?

I hope everyone has a wonderful day tomorrow and remembers to count their blessings and take time to be thankful….we have a lot to be thankful for, from frivolous things like ed hardy glasses to not having to worry about our basic needs on a daily basis!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Last weekend, we went to Office Max and picked up new filing cabinets for our home office…for free!

I had quite a few MaxPerks rewards accumulated. I recycle my toner cartridges there, which gives me $2 or $3 per cartridge (can’t remember for sure how much). And I go through a lot of toner, with preparing school work for the kids each week! I also pay close attention to their sales, because they often advertise items that are free after MaxPerks. The backpack that I am using as a diaper bag right now was one such item.

Anyway, I had about $180 in MaxPerks (the salesman was blown away when we told him that), so we got three new filing cabinets that are much better quality and will hold up a lot longer than our old ones. Plus, they’re bigger! Only two are used for filing and the other is for storage. I keep all of my stationery from invitationbox.com in one of the drawers and the other is for Chad’s stuff.

We were also able to buy more toner with the remainder of our MaxPerks, which was awesome. You can never have too much toner…and free toner is even better!

I am so excited that Thanksgiving is coming up so quickly! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, second only to 4th of July. I already have all of my favorite Thanksgiving decorations up…actually I got them out awhile ago. *blush* No log cabin decor here….it’s all Pilgrims and turkeys!

This year, we’re going to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. It’s so much fun to get my parents, my brothers and sisters (all 9 of us), my brother’s wife and kids, my grandparents and my uncle all together in one house. It’s definitely a full table!

Sick Mother-in-law

The article written by Alonso Kramer

When my wife’s mother got sick last year, she told me that we needed to move to Michigan so she could help take care of her. I was very understanding, and because we don’t have kids and I can work from anywhere with my job, I was willing to go. We found a small house that we could rent for as long as we need to, and I began setting up the utilities before we moved in. I did an online search for “direct TV farmington hills MI” to see if I could set up satellite for our TV. I found out what phone company services the area as well as cable, water, and power. I took care of everything so my wife would not have to worry about anything. She had enough on her mind with her mother being so sick. We have lived in this rental house for a year now, and my mother-in-law has not gotten any better or worse, so it looks like we will be living here for an indefinite amount of time. I’m glad I can be here to support my wife and her mom.
